Austria's most modern airfield, the LOWZ in Zell am See, is located in the surroundings of a stunning Alpine backdrop and has been voted the most beautiful airfield of 2018 and 2022 for good reasons. On the 660-metre asphalted runway and the 300-metre glider runway, amateur pilots can take their first taster courses or obtain motor and glider licences. Those who use the "zell card" (pilot card) get eleven landings here for the price of ten, and are welcome to enjoy delicious coffee and cake at the Fliegerei bistro bakery restaurant every time. After disembarking, Zell am See’s old town is at your feet in the immediate vicinity, or you jump into the refreshing Lake Zell.
