Swimming in the lake, running and cycling
With an average water temperature of around 22 degrees in the summer months, Lake Zell not only invites you to swim in the lake, but also offers optimal training conditions for triathletes. In addition, there are the numerous road bike tours, which are ideally suited for basic and interval training. These routes lead around the Grossglockner, the Hochkönig or into neighbouring Tyrol, and reward every effort with impressive views. This also applies to the running routes: Targeted training is possible on asphalted roads, but also on paths through the forest as well as on forest and meadow trails.
IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun
1.9 kilometres of swimming, 90 kilometres of cycling and 21.1 kilometres of running, these are the facts surrounding this extraordinary triathlon in Zell am See-Kaprun. Every year in summer, participants from all over the world take up the challenge and fight for the overall victory over a total distance of 113 kilometres - 70.3 miles. The triathletes are cheered on by up to 30,000 enthusiastic spectators who travel to Zell am See-Kaprun especially for the event.
TriZell: International Triathlon
The TriZell has been taking place in Zell am See-Kaprun for more than 35 years. Athletes compete on a shorter route than in IRONMAN 70.3 in the three triathlon disciplines: 1.5 kilometres of swimming, 40 kilometres of cycling and 10 kilometres of running in beautiful surroundings.
