Freeriding on the Kitzsteinhorn 5 freeride routes in Zell am See-Kaprun

The first turn in pristine terrain and the feeling of flying through feather-light powder: Freeriding exerts a very special fascination. The Kitzsteinhorn is the right place for you if you too love to ski in powder snow. In the high alpine glacier ski resort in Kaprun, you can expect top snow quality at an altitude of 3,000 metres as well as five designated freeride routes.

Keep up to date: The Freeride Info Base

The Freeride Info Base at the Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn and at the Info Points at the access points to the freeride routes provide you with information about the current conditions off the secured pistes. Here you will find all the data about the designated routes, the weather and snow situation, the current avalanche warning level and information about the equipment. You can also test your avalanche transceiver at the avalanche transceiver checkpoint. Using a topographical map, the Info Base shows the gradient of the slopes, potential danger spots and the route’s most beautiful freeride lines.
