New from May 2025: The Guest Mobility Ticket Your ticket for all public transport in SalzburgerLand

Your holiday in Zell am See-Kaprun should be as comfortable and relaxed as possible - while also protecting the environment: The previously known "Pinzgau Mobility Card" is being replaced by the new Guest Mobility Ticket Salzburg and comes with numerous improvements and an expansion of the included public transport area for overnight guests. From May 2025, the ticket will allow you to travel on all public transport, from train to Postbus and the Pinzgau local railway, throughout SalzburgerLand. The only exceptions are steam and special trains and the night bus service.

Affordable travel by bus and train

The Guest Mobility Ticket is available from 1 May 2025 from the first night of your stay at your accommodation in the Zell am See-Kaprun region or in SalzburgerLand. If you also get the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card at your accommodation, then you will have two tickets in your pocket. Your Guest Mobility Ticket for public transport is valid during your entire stay, including the day of arrival and departure.

From May 2025, overnight guests will benefit from an extended and simplified mobility service that will enable even more convenient and sustainable use of public transport throughout SalzburgerLand.

For which means of transport is the Guest Mobility Ticket valid?

With the Guest Mobility Ticket Salzburg, which you get on your holiday with overnight stay in Zell am See-Kaprun, you can use all trains, Postbuses and the Pinzgau local railway. The only exceptions are steam and special trains and the night bus services.

What is the Guest Mobility Ticket?

The Guest Mobility Ticket is a public transport ticket for all overnight guests in SalzburgerLand. It is valid on all public transport throughout the federal state and therefore includes the use of all public transport* in Zell am See-Kaprun, as well as all of SalzburgerLand. All guests receive this ticket at their accommodation in Zell am See or Kaprun from the first night of their stay (from May 2025). The ticket is issued at check-in by the accommodation provider, and is financed through a mobility tax, which is payable per night.

*Excluding steam and special trains and night bus services
 

When is the Guest Mobility Ticket valid?

All public transport in SalzburgerLand can be used with the Guest Mobility Ticket from 1 May 2025. 
The ticket is valid from the first night of your stay for the entire duration of your stay in SalzburgerLand, and can also be used on both the day of arrival and departure.

Where can I get the Guest Mobility Ticket?

The Guest Mobility Ticket is issued directly at your accommodation. You will receive it either as a haptic card or digitally in your Zell am See-Kaprun App. It is valid from the day of your arrival for the entire duration of your stay (ÖBB trains for arrival not included).

Please note the following for the digital ticket:

  1. Download the Zell am See-Kaprun App from the App Store or Google Play Store on your smartphone.
  2. Enter your email address when registering as a guest at your accommodation. 
  3. Please use the same email address to register in the app. 
  4. Your digital Guest Mobility Ticket can then be accessed in the wallet of your Zell am See-Kaprun App at any time.
Which means of transport are included?

The use includes public transport (train + Postbuses + local railway) throughout SalzburgerLand. This also includes urban transport in the city of Salzburg, regional bus services, suburban trains, regional trains, and long-distance trains in SalzburgerLand.

Detailed list of public transport services included (more details will follow soon):

  • Pinzgau local railway on the Zell am See-Krimml line (excluding steam and special trains)
  • ÖBB trains in SalzburgerLand (excluding arrival)
  • All SVV regional bus services or route areas there and back (except night bus services) in SalzburgerLand
Is public transport also included in the Summer Card?

The public transport offer can also be used from guests with the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card. You will therefore receive a separate card (if the digital Summer Card is used, the Guest Mobility Ticket will be displayed as a separate card in the digital wallet of the Zell am See-Kaprun App). If you are staying at a Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card partner accommodation, you will receive your cards at your accommodation.

Can I buy the Guest Mobility Ticket?

The Guest Mobility Ticket cannot be purchased separately, as it is always linked to an overnight stay at an accommodation establishment in SalzburgerLand. The ticket is included in the accommodation rate from the first night of your stay in Zell am See-Kaprun. You will receive the card directly at your accommodation.

What happens if I travel from Zell am See or Kaprun to a destination outside SalzburgerLand? How much do I pay?

When travelling outside SalzburgerLand or across the border of the federal state of Salzburg, only the fare for each additional zone is charged and applied.

Cross-border connections of the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund can be used with the Guest Mobility Ticket. This applies to lines 260, 180 (Pinzgau via Bad Reichenhall), 150 (Bad Ischl) and line 546 (St. Wolfgang).

What happens if I lose my Guest Mobility Ticket?

In this case, you will receive a new ticket on request at your accommodation.

How long is the Guest Mobility Ticket valid for?

It is valid for your entire stay in the federal state of Salzburg.

How much does the Guest Mobility Ticket cost?

The charges for the Guest Mobility Ticket are set per person (aged 15 and over) and per overnight stay, and are calculated in addition to the existing tax for overnight stays.

  • From 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2027, the mobility tax will be € 0.50 per person (aged 15 and over) and per night.
  • From 1 May 2027, the mobility tax will be € 1.10 per person (aged 15 and over) per night.
  • Children up to the age of 14 do not pay the mobility tax. 
Can I take my dog on buses and local trains free of charge?

With the Guest Mobility Ticket, dogs can travel free of charge on public transport. Important note: one dog per person is free.

Does Guest Mobility Ticket also include the use of cable cars?

No, the cable cars or other excursion destinations are not included in the Guest Mobility Ticket. The ticket is only valid for public transport such as buses, trains, or local railways.
