The Schmittenhöhebahn is a modern cable car and runs from May to October to the upper terminus at an altitude of almost 2,000 metres. Those interested in culture and history can visit the unique Sissi Chapel and the exhibition on the 90-year history of the Schmittenhöhe there. But first, it's worth taking a look into the distance rather than into the past. When you get off the cable car, you will be rewarded with a fabulous panorama. From here, you enjoy a stunning view of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the Grossglockner and even as far as the Wilder Kaiser in Tyrol.
