On the tracks of the FM4 Summer Sessions
A DJ set on the glacier, an audience of 30 three-thousand-metre-high mountains instead of a crowd, a concert on the roof terrace and bluesy tunes on the water: In cooperation with SalzburgerLand and Zell am See-Kaprun, the Austrian radio station FM4 brought exciting local acts to four unusual locations during the Summer Sessions in July and August. We present the concert locations once again, audio sample included of course!
360-degree panoramic view: AVEC on the Schmittenhöhe panorama terrace
With the panorama terrace of the Franzl Restaurant on Schmittenhöhe, FM4 chose a very special stage for the Austrian singer-songwriter AVEC for the FM4 Summer Sessions: On 8 July 2021, around 30 three-thousand-metre-peaks listened to her touching voice - that's how far the view from the Schmittenhöhe, Zell's local mountain, stretches across the entire region. For those who have never climbed this panoramic mountain, we just say: Let's go! The 360° panorama is definitely worth the hike (or the cable car ride). If you want to relive the Summer Sessions feeling, folk-pop from AVEC will be on your mind. Alternatively, you can of course listen to the sounds of nature, as romantic Alpine flair on the Schmittenhöhe can be enjoyed audibly and quiet.
Ice, Ice Baby: CAMO & KROOKED & MEFJUS on the Kitzsteinhorn
The DJs Camo & Krooked and Mefjus have already picked many a spectacular location to play their sets open air. On 15 July 2021, even ice and snow didn’t stop them: during the FM4 Summer Sessions, they spun their records in the impressive surroundings of the Kitzsteinhorn at an altitude of over 3,000 metres. If you want to relive their thunderous drum and bass glacier set, you can be taken in comfort to the panorama platform where the DJs made the glacier shake. Although the bass has already faded away, the surrounding mountain peaks you can see from the platform still take your breath away.
Royal Techno: ELEKTRO GUZZI on the rooftop of the FPCC
The Ferry Porsche Congress Center (FPCC) is a stage in itself - for conferences or large events, guests can adapt the space as they wish. For the Austrian analogue techno pioneers Elektro Guzzi, the rooftop terrace of the Congress Center even served as the event venue for the FM4 Summer Sessions on 29 July 2021. The three musicians played new tracks from their latest studio album "Trip" here in front of a picture-postcard panorama, and once again proved their strong live presence. But the location not only impresses with its view of the Alps and the lake: From electro concerts to private parties, everything can be made possible at this location. On request, the FPCC organises certified environmentally conscious events, from catering to accommodation, and deliberately puts sustainability and environmental protection on the agenda with its "Green Events".
Blues on the Water: CARI CARI on board of MS Schmittenhöhe
The FM4 Summer Sessions on 5 August 2021 were complemented by the indie rock band Cari Cari. With bluesy tunes and tracks that oscillate between nostalgia and rock'n'roll of the future, the musicians came to the sun deck of the MS Schmittenhöhe. On board the largest ship on Lake Zell, Cari Cari not only played well-known hits like "Summer Sun" or "Nothing's older than Yesterday", but also performed new pieces. If you want to float on the water without a concert while the Kitzsteinhorn or the Schmittenhöhe pass by, then a boat trip is just perfect for you.
